Reflections from December's Conversations

  • How useful was having a list of Participants and their profiles before ( or after the workshop)

Didn’t know we had access to the list.
Great way to follow up with participants . In particular I can follow up with people as ideas and suggestions come up after the dialogue.

An interesting question you heard, thought of, or asked.
How do you follow and stay with your intuition?
What would you do with 6 months to live?
    Francesca’s question about being lost.
    What’s the gift?
    What’s your original medicine?
What are your hobbies/ passions outside Common Works?
    - I realized than I had put those on hold and didn’t have any.
How are you contributing to your community?
What can you do with this skill that you have?
    Tax-free green development zone.
How is value and / or productivity defined?

What is an idea you could use or would like to develop?

A day is wasted if I haven’t visited anyone..
    Give young people big opportunities
What’s your idea for the day
    Ian Curtin. IC Possibilities
That I want to create a situation where people feel safe to explore and grow.
People lacked proper info/ context for reputable purchasing information. Common Works can help fill in this gap.
The dilemma that ‘there’s always something better out there: prevents you from appreciating what you have.
Learning from the mistakes of past generations.
Linking two or more areas of expertise to create some sort of interdisciplinary output.

    • What did you learn about yourself /others?

It is great to exercise confidence.
It is great just to be open to learning, to just be open.
What surprises you about this process.
    Not focused
There are many other people who struggle with how to divide their time.

What benefit can you imagine or have realized from this workshop/ series?
The power of a good question. You don’t necessarily need to let someone keep talking, keep asking questions.
    Create your big descriptors.
    Create your guiding question
    The power of human interaction.
    Ideas from speaking to people.
Very refreshing to run across people who are struggling with similar questions and coming up with such diverse ideas.
From meeting and connecting with interesting and engaging individuals. I am refreshed and motivated..
    New relationships.

. What follow up steps might you take?
At least to consider follow up.
If you had no limitations what would you do?
    Keep talking!
Register with GD.. make my ideas known
    Find a musical partner.
Recognizing the power of collaborating with people that may not have similar projects/ ideas. i.e. embracing differences .. to build more complex relationships that leads to overcoming common challenges.

I will make some notes on what I’ve heard, Share my experience with general friends / family members and till them more on with my projects with a little more love/ gratitude. And breathe.
Look at the GD Network of Possibilities
Express more thanks to people in my life.
Take time to evaluate my goals and reflect.
Allow time to make decisions and realize goals.
    Look locally for resources.
Inspired by other local green initiatives.
